Burn Ban Issued

07/07/2022

It has been determined that during periods of dry weather certain hazardous and dangerous conditions may exist brought about by open burning and that burning constitutes a serious hazard to the health, safety, and welfare of persons and property located within Mississippi County, Arkansas.

A ban on all open burning has been declared by County Judge John Alan Nelson.

No open burning during a burn ban shall be allowed.  It shall be unlawful for any person to burn or cause to be burned any leaves, trash, or any other combustible material of any kind or to permit any such fire for burning within the county.

This burn ban will remain in place until such time as there has been enough rain to remedy the fire hazard situation or otherwise notified.
