On Thursday September 9, 2021 the Mississippi County Sheriff's Departments Street Crimes Unit along with the Manila Police Department conducted a search of the Clarence Platz residence located on Johnson Street in Manila.  During the search Officers found a black eye glass case containing a plastic baggie containing approximately 14.2 grams of methamphetamine, one digital scale and a glass pipe used for smoking methamphetamine.  Officers also found a Highpoint 9mm handgun with one loaded standard magazine and one extended magazine. 

Mr. Platz (38 years old) was transported to the Mississippi County Detention Center and charged with the following;

Possession of a Controlled Substance Methamphetamine (Felony)

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Felony)

Possession of a Firearm by Certain Persons (Felony)

Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms (Felony)

Mr. Platz was issued a $100,000 bond by Judge Shannon Langston.
