Drug Arrest (James Young Jr.)

On February 24, 2020 around 2:25am, Corporal Glen Teeter and Deputy Gary Cooper were patrolling the area of County Road 305 when they observed a vehicle traveling northbound at a high rate of speed.  Deputies attempted to catch the vehicle but it quickly accelerated and continued north. This vehicle lost control and collided with a ditch on County Road 423. The driver then exited the vehicle and fled east through a field. The driver, James Young Jr., was then taken into custody.  A search of the vehicle was conducted and a plastic container was located on the dash that contained 4.8 grams of suspected methamphetamine. Deputies also located an unopened bag of syringes inside the vehicle. Mr. Young was taken to Great River Medical Center for a minor leg injury then taken to the detention center and charged with Possession of Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine).
