Aviation & Marine Patrol

Aviation

The Mississippi County Sheriff’s Department Aviation Unit was established in 1994, to provide aerial Law Enforcement support to Mississippi County.  Since its inception, it has been one of the most valuable assets of the department.  Mississippi County is one of only a few Sheriff’s Departments in the State of Arkansas that has an aviation unit.

This unit operates two Bell OH-58A helicopters and has assisted in a variety of incidents including escaped and/or fleeing suspect apprehension; search and rescue efforts; and narcotics detection.

The Mississippi County Sheriff’s Department Aviation Unit has also had the great privilege to assist other agencies in Northeast Arkansas, Western Tennessee, and Southeast Missouri.

Marine Patrol

The Mississippi County Sheriff's Department Marine Patrol Unit was established in 2014, to provide additional Law Enforcement support on the Mississippi River.

This unit has been used in search, rescue, and recovery missions; and in other water related incidents. It has proved to be another valuable asset of the department in the short time that it has existed.

The Mississippi County Sheriff's Department Marine Patrol Unit works closely with other agencies to ensure rapid response and support to all those on Mississippi County waterways.
