HOW CAN I FIND OUT WHO IS INVESTIGATING MY CASE?

If you wish to speak to the investigator assigned to your case, you may contact the Criminal Investigative Division by calling 870-658-2242 or 870-762-2243.  Ask to speak with CID.

 

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I SUSPECT SOMEONE IS INVOLVED IN SELLING OR TRAFFICKING DRUGS?

You may report your suspicions to our Drug Task Force by calling our tip line at 870-658-7024.  This is a voicemail only line and you do not have to give your name when reporting your suspicions.  You may also submit your tips online via our SUBMIT A CRIME TIP or through CRIME STOPPERS via the links on the homepage. 

 

HOW DO I REPORT A CRIME TO THE SHERIFF'S OFFICE?

If the crime is in progress call 911.  If the crime has already occurred and no emergency exists call 870-658-2242 or 870-762-2243.  Ask for a deputy to come to your location to complete an incident/offense report. You can also use our online incident reporting form available on the "Forms" section on the main page of this website. 

 

WHEN CAN JAIL DETAINEES RECEIVE VISITORS?

Mississippi County Visitation Schedule

Males (8:30AM - 11:30AM) *must be signed in no later than 11:00AM
Saturdays Last Names Beginning A - M
Sundays Last Names Beginning N - Z

Females (1:00PM - 2:00PM) *must be signed in no later than 1:30PM
Can visit either Saturday or Sunday

*visits are 30 minutes in length
*only 2 visitors per detainee
*must be over 18 and have a photo ID
*no cell phones allowed in visitation booths

 

HOW CAN I ADD MONEY TO A DETAINEE'S COMMISSARY ACCOUNT?

There are three (3) options for adding money to detainee accounts.

            1. You may mail a money order payable to the detainee to:

*if letters, cards, or any other type of mail is present, it will be returned to sender unopened. Please see "How do I correspond with a detainee at the Mississippi County Detention Center" for instructions on how to write to detainees.

  1. You may visit www.tigerdeposits.com and add funds to a detainee's account using a credit or debit card.
  2. You may visit the Tiger Commissary Kiosk at the end of the visitation lobby to deposit funds. The machine accepts cash and credit or debit cards.

 

HOW DO I CORRESPOND WITH A DETAINEE AT THE MISSISSIPPI COUNTY DETENTION CENTER?

HOW DO I PICK UP ANY PROPERTY THAT I LEFT BEHIND WHILE INCARCERATED?

Property may be picked up Monday - Friday from 8:30AM - 3:30PM at the reception desk in the administrative offices. Please bring photo identification.

If you need to determine if you have property, you may call the Sheriff's Office at 870-658-2242 or 870-762-2243, Monday - Friday from 8:00AM - 4:00PM.

 

CAN I APPLY FOR EMPLOYMENT ONLINE? HOW LONG ARE THE APPLICATIONS KEPT ON FILE?

You may apply for any position online by clicking on the EMPLOYMENT section on the homepage and choosing the appropriate application.

Applications will remain on file for six months.  When a position becomes available, the interview committee will go through applications and call individuals for interviews.

 

HOW MUCH DO SHERIFF SERVICES COST?

Pursuant to ACA 21-6-307, the following fees shall be charged:

Every summons, capias, scire facias, attachment, writ of garnishment, writ of injunction, or subpoena..........$30.00

Serving every writ of execution..........$100.00

For commission for receiving and paying money on execution or process when lands or goods have been taken into custody, advertised, or sold..........10%

Every return of writ, summons, or subpoena, original or judicial..........$20.00

For executing a writ of inquiry..........$20.00

For executing a certificate of purchase for real estate under execution..........$20.00

For making, executing, and subscribing a Sheriff's deed to be paid by purchaser..........$30.00

For serving each order, notice, or rule of any court..........$30.00

For serving each notice to vacate..........$30.00

For advertising goods or lands for sale..........$30.00

For returning each execution or attachment..........$20.00

For advertising elections in each voting precinct..........$20.00

For delivering voter registration books for each voting precinct..........$20.00

For serving warrant or order of arrest from any court..........$50.00

For taking and entering every bail or delivery bond..........$20.00

For attending every trial of a criminal or civil case of confession in open court..........$20.00

For serving subpoena for special jurors..........$20.00

Background Checks..........$5.00

*Fingerprinting (for employment or concealed carry) is done during regular business hours on Fridays only)
*Background checks are in-house only, meaning only what you have with this agency.  If you need a more extensive background check you may obtain one through the Arkansas State Police at https://asp.arkansas.gov/services-and-programs/detail/criminal-background-checks

The Mississippi County Sheriff's Office accepts Cash, Money Order, Credit/Debit Cards for the services we provide (All Credit/Debit card purchases are charged a 2.49% convenience fee.)

 

WHAT DO I DO IF I RECEIVE A JURY DUTY NOTICE IN THE MAIL?

The Mississippi County Sheriff's Office is tasked with mailing all jury duty notices to potential jurors. This is done from a list provided to us by the Mississippi County Circuit Clerk's Office.

You are asked to verify receipt of your jury duty notice by calling the Mississippi County Sheriff's Department at 870-658-2242 or 870-763-2243.  You can do this 24/7.

Fill out the questionnaire as soon as possible and return it to the Circuit Clerk's Office via the enclosed Self Addressed Stamped Envelope.
